Professional Issues (2005)

pharmacotherapy practice guidelines.

Integrating Assessment and RxP
My two primary interests at this point have to do with RxP and
issues in assessment. This 2003 presentation from APA represents
a first attempt at bringing the two together. I believe
assessment has an important role to play in the future of
pharmacotherapy, and there is a great deal of work to be done on
investigating their synthesis.

Tennessee Legislative Hearings
(2005)

to describe the FDU psychopharmacology program at 2005 Tennessee
legislative hearings on prescriptive authority. Some of this
material is also incorporated into presentations developed by
the Tennessee Psychological Association for those same hearings.

Issues in Prescribing for
Psychologists
(2006)
This was a presentation made to a Department of Psychiatry at a
state hospital on prescribing for psychologists. The focus was
therefore on why it is important that psychologists acquire
prescriptive authority, and the differences in prescribing
models. You will find information on such issues as the
proportion of psychotropic prescriptions written by
psychiatrists, the rate at which psychologists versus
psychiatrists prescribe, and the safety of psychologists'
prescribing. |
